It is the first aerospace technology to win in the category since these Awards were established
The Isla de La Cartuja, in Seville, hosted the gala for the 15th Alas for the Internationalization of Andalusian Companies Awards, organized by Extenda-Andalusia Export and Foreign Investment, wich rewarded several Andalusian companies that stood out in the last year both for its internationalization process and for its export activity.
Aertec, an international company specializing in aerospace technology, received the award in the ‘Foreign Implementation’ category, being the first aeronautical technology company awarded in this category since the Alas Awards were set up. Its founders, Antonio Gómez-Guillamón and Vicente Padilla, received the award from the President of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Andalusia, CEA, Javier González de Lara.
International vocation
The main objective of the Alas Awards is to recognize the work of Andalusian companies and entities in international markets, which in the case of Aertec represent 40% of its turnover. Since these aeronautical engineers founded the company in Malaga in 1997, their growth trajectory has always paralleled their internationalization process. “Our company was born with an international vocation, and today we can work anywhere in the world thanks, to a great extent, to our ability to develop our own technology”, highlights Antonio Gómez-Guillamón.
Since the achievement in 2001 of its first international contract at Luton Airport, in the United Kingdom, Aertec’s implementation plan abroad has been consolidated in the last 20 years. As a result, the cpmpany currently has subsidiaries and companies registered in Spain , United Kingdom, Germany, France, Colombia, Peru, United States and United Arab Emirates.
This clear international dimension has allowed the company to achieve a foreign business volume that already represents 40% of its turnover, where the development of aerospace systems and, increasingly, of its TARSIS unmanned aerial platforms has a great weight.
