CATEC has announced the creation of a new line of technology development aimed at the clean energy market called ‘Clean Energy & Propulsion’, focused on sustainable propulsion systems and other future energy applications
With this new line, CATEC expands its technological spectrum to provide solutions related to: systems and technologies in Green Hydrogen (production, storage and use of renewable hydrogen); Energy Storage (energy storage and hybridisation of renewable sources); Electric Mobility (hybrid platforms oriented towards propulsion); Smart Energy Management (energy management through advanced control and artificial intelligence), and Green Chemistry/Fuels (capture and use of CO2, synthetic aviation fuels and new sustainable chemistry routes).
The launch of the ‘Clean Energy & Propulsion’ line reflects CATEC’s commitment to sustainability, present in all phases of its projects, through the development of new technologies and R&D, from the design of lighter components to the manufacture of composites with lower electricity consumption, including more energy-efficient processes, more efficient engines and new cleaner fuels or more electric and less polluting vehicles.
To promote and lead this new line of business and technology development, CATEC will have the collaboration of Enrique Moreno Benítez, an industrial engineer with an outstanding career in the field of energy, energy efficiency, clean propulsion and sustainability.
In his more than 20 years of experience in international organisations, he has held roles as an engineer, R&D manager, general manager and consultant. He has created and led multidisciplinary work teams for the development of various technological solutions linked to hydrogen, fuel cells, carbon capture and storage, energy efficiency, solar energy, biofuels, catalytic development of synthetic fuels, power electronics, control and energy storage. Its extensive track record is reinforced by its established role as a driver of change with successful international collaborations and technology agreements.
For Joaquín Rodríguez, CEO of CATEC, “our mission is to accelerate the arrival of sustainable and high-impact technological solutions to the industry, in order to improve Spanish capabilities in areas related to aeronautics, space and clean, intelligent and sustainable transport’. ‘We are convinced that, with the new Clean Energy and Propulsion line, and with Enrique’s professional background, we will add great value to Spanish companies working in these fields and allow them to compete more, better and faster in the global arena”, he remarked.
