More than 150 meetings held
For the first time, all the Regional Clusters of the Spanish Aerospace sector: AERA-Cluster Aeroespacial de Aragón, Andalucía Aerospace Cluster, Hegan-Basque Aerospace Cluster and Madrid Aerospace Cluster, in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Technological Companies of Defense, Security, Aeronautics and Espacio (TEDAE), have teamed up to establish a networking network through virtual B2B contacts between their associates, where synergies and future collaborations can be explored.
Last March, more than 200 people attended in streaming the opening day of the first joint Aerospace Networking between all regional clusters and TEDAE, in which Ricardo Martí Fluxá, president of TEDAE, Alejandro Ibrahim, president of AERA, Antonio Gómez-Guillamón, president of Andalucía Aerospace Cluster, Aitor Kintana, vice president of Hegan Pedro Sanz, president of Madrid Aerospace Cluster and Carlos Suárez, advisor and consultant in strategic industrial projects, offered a very interesting conference on the challenges of the aerospace sector, participated.
All agreed to underline the enormous relevance of this initiative, since never before had a joint networking event, where the entire value chain of the aerospace industry was represented, been held at the national level.
The event had several objectives: to create a network, establish relationships, meet all the actors in the Spanish aerospace fabric … And all this with the ultimate aim of working together, collaborating commercially and technologically and strengthening our sector and our position in the market together.
The situation that the sector is going through due to the pandemic, confronts us with a new business model where it will be necessary to adapt, not only to a significant reduction in the size of the market in the short term, but also to the profound changes produced by teleworking, technological development and environmental sustainability.
For this reason, it is now more necessary than ever to take advantage of synergies and diversify, and Clusters can be one of the great vehicles for this, especially as a channel for collaboration. In fact, that is one of the great values of Associations and Clusters: creating the necessary and adequate forums and instruments to establish cooperation and points of common interest. This collaboration will be another key piece to emerge more competitive from this crisis when the world flies again as before.
The B2B meeting initiative exceeded all expectations, even before the end of the application period:
- More than 100 registered companies
- More than 450 connections between participating companies
- More than 250 virtual meeting requests
- More than 150 meetings held
The meetings were held through the SMEBOOK platform. Based on artificial intelligence, the European scope of this tool has allowed partners to also connect with companies from other countries that were already registered on the platform.
According to Andalucía Aerospace: “We trust that this initiative between the Aerospace Clusters and TEDAE will be the first of many, so that this strategic sector for the Spanish industrial fabric grows and reaches further because, after all, companies they do not move in a single region”.
