The global aircraft fleet reaches this milestone with a new delivery to the Royal Canadian Air Force
Airbus Defense and Space delivered the aircraft to the customer at its Medium and Light Aircraft assembly line in San Pablo, Seville. In the coming days, the aircraft will complete its ferry flight to Wing 19 of the Canadian Forces Base in Comox, in British Columbia, Canada, where it will be based. The company has formally delivered seven C295s out of a total of 16 units planned for the Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) program.
This new FWSAR aircraft becomes the 200th unit of the C295 community. Airbus’ highly versatile and efficient tactical aircraft has received orders from 34 military and civilian operators around the world, from Canada and Egypt to Spain and Indonesia.
Ceremony in San Pablo
Together with the President of Airbus Spain Alberto Gutiérrez, the ceremony was attended by Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, president of the Junta de Andalucía, and the military attaché of the Embassy of Canada. Other senior Airbus officials such as Francisco Sánchez Segura, Head of Engineering at Defense and Space, and Felipe Steinmetz, Head of Light & Medium Aircraft also participated in the ceremony.

The success of reaching 200 deliveries belongs to you completely, “stressed Alberto Gutiérrez.

For his part, Andalusian President Juan Manuel Moreno wanted to highlight the aerospace and defense sector as “key in the economy and strategic for the progress of Andalusia” by occupying the top positions in exports and contributing a growing percentage to the region’s GDP.
