The new company has its Development Centre and Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Aerópolis
AERTEC, a Spanish company specialising in aerospace and defence technology, has created the new company AERTEC Defence & Aerial Systems, a specific company to strengthen the firm’s capabilities in aerial systems, with its own technology and products, to cover the European and international market, in the segment of high-performance unmanned aerial systems and autonomous systems technologies in the dual field.
The new company will concentrate the activity linked to the design, development, and manufacture of unmanned aerial platforms and vehicles based on the company’s own catalogue of products with intellectual property.
The official signing of the deeds at a notary’s office took place last Wednesday, 18 September, in Malaga.
The difference of this new company, AERTEC Defence & Aerial Systems, for which there are already contracts and clients, is that it incorporates the entire family of proprietary products, based on 100% AERTEC technology, focusing primarily on TARSIS systems and mature use cases, and other solutions in development.
The TARSIS family are the flagship products of the new subsidiary, being the most advanced Spanish technology UAS in their class. Its current version for operation on short and unprepared runways, as well as the version currently in development for vertical takeoff and landing, with hybrid propulsion, have been designed for different applications in the military and civil fields.
AERTEC Managing DirectorsThe TARSIS Systems have ATOL (Automatic Take Off and Landing) technology and a complete guidance, navigation and control system, all based on proprietary developments. Furthermore, thanks to being the owners of the fundamental technologies of the system, they can integrate multiple other options with great agility and efficiency: secure communications, weapons integration, laser target designation, satellite backup link, dual and multispectral sensors or communications payloads or emergency support applications.
“The systems developed by AERTEC include different aerial platforms and ground control station configurations that will serve to integrate a series of payloads developed by the National Industry,” says Pedro Becerra, Aerospace & Defence Director of AERTEC.
The TARSIS ISTAR versions (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Location and Reconnaissance) are high-end, light tactical Class I UAS, offering a great capacity for integrating payloads of up to 15 kg and a long flight autonomy of up to 12 hours, features that enable multiple configurations and adaptability to very demanding operating environments.
The TARSIS W version with a payload capacity of up to 30 kg and the integration of 3 kg FOX missiles, a product of the same company, is currently in the development phase in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence.
The new company has its headquarters in Málaga TechPark, its Development Centre and Final Assembly Line (FAL) in the Aerospace Technology Park of Seville, Aerópolis, and is preparing a new location in Galicia for the development of civil use cases such as Maritime Rescue, firefighting and environmental observation.
