The technology company TTI, together with its partner Skylife, have delivered the first PROST LTA unit to AIRBUS. The purpose of this team is to test the meteorological radars located in the front part of the C295 aircraft in the hangar itself and safely

Until now, because the radiation emitted by the meteorological radar can be harmful to health, the tests implemented in the meteorological radars had to be carried out outside the hangar or were implemented directly in flight. If the tests did not pass, it was an extra cost since the plane was fully assembled.

The PROST LTA solves this problem by being able to test in the hangar itself without radiation leaks and creating a safe environment for workers while the plane is being assembled. This is reflected in a considerable reduction in cost and time, optimizing production processes.

The PROST LTA has a hood that is attached to the nose of the aircraft and absorbs the radiation emitted by the meteorological radar, thus avoiding endangering the operators and engineers who are in the environment of the aircraft.

The PROST LTA system is capable of collecting the radar signal and simulating the reflections produced by specific meteorological conditions, displaying the interpretation on the user interface and generating echoes artificially. The airplane’s meteorological radar receives these echoes, signals predefined with the atmospheric conditions virtualized by the user, and these are represented on the meteorological radar display interpreted as real conditions.

The equipment has the possibility of integrating the system into the internal network of the plant, thus allowing its use from any point, either from an information point or integrating into the factory’s internal test system. Thanks to the geometry of its mechanics, it can be adjusted to the maximum to the frame of the plane, in addition to having an easily maneuverable system.

PROST technology, which has CE and patent marking, is ready to be launched on the international market, focusing efforts not only on aircraft and helicopter manufacturers, but also on sectors such as Security and Defense, where there are large air fleets and are necessary MRO tasks.

TTI has an ambitious R&D program for the development of new products and services that are part of the space, telecommunications, defense and security, and information science and technology industries. TTI accumulates more than 25 years of experience in the market and has been present in Seville for 10 years.
