The Park generated 16% more turnover and 14% more employment in 2022, an upward trend that continues this year and brings it closer to pre-pandemic levels
The Andalusian Aerospace Technology Park, Aerópolis, closed 2022 with a turnover of 1,010 million euros, which represents an increase of 16% compared to the previous year (868 million euros). In the same way, employment also grew, generating 5,002 direct jobs, which is 14% more than the previous year (4,377 workers).
After the drop in activity in 2020 due to the paralysis of air traffic and aerospace industrial activity, 2022 marked the beginning of a period of growth in billing, employment, number of companies and business activity in the Park. Aerópolis, like the Andalusian aerospace sector, thus shows its resilience in the face of the difficulties generated by the pandemic and the adverse economic context, facing 2024 with broad expectations of recovery.
The forecasts for the Park are optimistic, even more so thanks to opportunities such as the launch by the Andalusian Government of the Andalusian Aerospace Strategy 2027, a pioneering instrument to support the sector that reinforces the Andalusian Government’s commitment to this innovative and innovative industry. economic growth, the designation of Seville as the headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency, the award to the capital of the business incubator of the European Space Agency and the Presidency of the Community of Ariane Cities (CVA) 2024.
