The Aer\u00f3polis Business Center has hosted the official presentation day of the 2024 call for the Space Technology Program (PTE), organized by the Spanish Space Agency in coordination with Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace and the CATEC Technology Center.<\/p>\n
The Conference, called \u00abImpulse towards Space: Opportunities for the Industry in the Space Technology Plan\u00bb, included key representatives of the space industry. The Secretary General of Innovation of the Government of Spain, Teresa Riesgo, the Counselor of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Government of Andalusia, Jorge Paradela, and the president of the Provincial Council of Seville, Javier Fern\u00e1ndez, participated in its opening.<\/p>\n
In her speech, the Secretary General of Innovation emphasized \u00abthe prominence that Seville has in the space field, because this city already appears on the agenda of the world of space after the summit\u00bb of the sector held in Seville in 2023.<\/p>\n
The PTE – she added – \u201ccomes at a time when the sector is undergoing a very strong transformation, with more competitiveness, new actors, and a new role for private users of space. \u00abAll of this totally changes the way we compete in the space market and, precisely for this reason, we have to adapt business models and that is why the PTE comes, to propose collaborative projects, making room for large corporations and emerging companies.\u00bb<\/p>\n
For his part, the head of Industry of the Andalusian Government emphasized that \u00abAndalusia wants to be at the forefront of decarbonization technologies, where Andalusian companies are taking part in projects with added weight and value. We have to aspire for the industry to Andalusian space represents the same weight that the aeronautical industry now has in our economy\u00bb.<\/p>\n
The president of the Provincial Council also emphasized that \u00abthe aeronautical sector represents one of the great opportunities for Seville and Andalusia, because it is an area that has no borders. It is a project that transcends the local.\u00bb With this event, according to Fern\u00e1ndez, the Spanish Space Agency, based in Seville, is \u00abputting value in a technology park that has been a reality for 20 years, and the fact of having Aer\u00f3polis and having Airbus nearby is in itself a success story that shows that when administrations get to work, things turn out well.<\/p>\n
The PTE is part of the Transfer and Collaboration Program of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation (2024-2027).
