A team led by the University of Vigo and with the participation of the University of A Coru\u00f1a and the Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies has been working since last November on the EAGLE project, for the digitization of air and marine space, for the deployment of drones applied to the maintenance of offshore wind farms.<\/p>\n
The initiative, financed by the Ecological and Digital Transition Program of the Ministry of Science and Innovation and which will run until November 2024, is coordinated by Higinio Gonz\u00e1lez and Elena Mart\u00edn, with teams from the School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering, and of the new Institute of Physics and Aerospace Science on the Ourense campus. Also participating are researchers Marcos M\u00edguez (UDC) and Dr. Antidio Viguria, CTO of Avionics and Systems at CATEC.<\/p>\n
One of EAGLE’s objectives is to reduce maintenance costs and unnecessary risks for operators in charge of inspecting and solving problems in offshore wind farms.
