The project began in October 2019 and has an expected duration of 3 years.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of the project is to develop and validate a system for opening the doors of the engine nacelles based on electromechanical actuation that allows complete accessibility to the engines and nacelle components to facilitate maintenance work on the entire system. The solution proposed by NNEOS will be compact, safe, reliable and easy to operate. In addition, it must withstand the very high temperatures that are reached in that area both during flight and on the ground during maintenance operations.<\/p>\n<p>The NNEOS project is structured in 8 work packages, ranging from the definition of requirements, conceptual and detailed design, manufacturing and assembly of the first prototypes to functional tests and validation of the equipment. Among the expected tests are vibration, partial duration and operational and survival temperature.<\/p>\n<p>HDS leads this project to respond to the requirements provided by AIRBUS for the development of the actuation system. During the first year HDS has worked on the analysis and definition of requirements and the development of the first conceptual design.
